The Northern Woods are the northwestern region of Reaper’s March. It contains the city of Arenthia in the north, as well as Fort Grimwatch and Greenhill further south. The Northern Woods Dolmen is just south and a bit west of Arenthia, along the river. It is bordered on the west by Malabal Tor. Dawnmead lies to the east and Jodewood is to the south.

You will need to complete the quests in order from 1 – 8; the quest givers are marked on the maps below. Sometimes the skill point is awarded before all of the quests in the zone are finished, but the remaining quests need to be completed because they are prerequisites for the next questing zone. There are no skill points in the Northern Woods questing zone, however they need to be completed so you can progress to the Jodewood questing zone where you will receive 2 skill points for completing that zone.

1. The Dark Mane
Quest Giver: Lord Gharesh-ri in Silvenar
Location(s): Fort Grimwatch

  1. Talk to Lord Gharesh-ri outside the Silvenar’s Audience Hall.
  2. Go to Fort Grimwatch.

Upon leaving the Silvenar’s Audience Hall, you will find a familiar face: Lord Gharesh-ri , Speaker for Mane Akkhuz-ri. The Mane was on his way to the wedding with his entourage when he suddenly started attacking them with some kind of dark magic. Then, he disappeared. Gharesh-ri needs your help finding the Mane and figuring out what is wrong with him.

The gate to Reaper’s March is just to the east of the Baandari Trading Post. There is a wayshrine a short distance past that, where the road curves north towards Fort Grimwatch.
Follow the road and you will find Englor standing just outside the fort, awaiting reinforcements. Talk to him to end the quest and start Grim Situation.



2. Grim Situation

  3. Seal the three spirit wells.

Talk to Englor at the entrance to Fort Grimwatch. The Mane loosed Dro-m’Athra spirits on the fort. The Lunar Champions are leading the fight against the spirits. He offers to take you to Shazah.

He runs into the first building on the right, then up the ramp into Grimwatch Tree.
Shazah says she and her sister arrived in Grimwatch a few days ago to deal with a siege and soldiers. However, as they started to push the soldiers back, the Mane released dark spirits, the Dro-m’Athra. She will help you break the spirit wells in the city, then you can go look for her sister, Khali.

Seal the Corruption
There are three corruptions to seal: northern, southern and western. The corruptions look like blue circles on the ground. Shazah will enter each one and start to glow with golden light, while you defend her from the spirits.

The First Mane
After you seal the corruptions, go to the Central Tree. Shazah closes the corruption in the tree, and Rid-Thar-ri’Datta, the first Mane, appears. He says the source of the darkness is inside the temple. He gives you his blessing.

Talk to Shazah. She says the Mane’s blessing will help you enter the temple to find Khali.
The temple entrance is east of the central tree. Pass through the blue flames, and talk to Khali. She thanks you for finding her.



3. Grimmer Still
Quest Giver: Khali
Location(s): Fort Grimwatch, Khaj Rawlith
Reward: Khaj Rawlith Crescent + 313 Gold
Recommended Level: 37

  1. Extinguish the dark fire barrier and enter Khaj Rawlith.
  2. Talk to Khali.
  3. Use the south entrance to enter the inner courtyard.
  4. Activate all four senche statues.
  5. Talk to Khali.
  6. Talk to Shazah, and choose a companion.
  7. Enter the inner chamber and destroy the source of corruption.
  8. Talk to Shazah.

Inside the temple Khaj Rawlith, talk to Khali. She thinks you might be able to dispel the dark fire barrier around the door the same way you got through the magic flames—just pass through it.

You extinguish the dark fire barrier, and open the door. Inside, head east towards the next door. Khali will say she is getting tired of this, then you will be able to talk to her. Khali thinks this next door can only be opened from the other side. To do this, enter the ruined doorway on the south wall. Continue through the side entrance back into the temple.

On the other side of the door, there are four senche guardian statues and a red crystal. Activate each of the statues to stop the flow of power to the crystal, then Khali will perform a ritual, shattering the crystal.

Talk to Khali again. It sounds like Shazah and the others made it into the ruins. Khali thinks Shazah will know what to do next.

Talk to Shazah. She says someone needs to stay behind to watch the door. You have to go, so you can choose Khali or Shazah. Shazah is a mage, and Khali uses a sword.
With your companion in tow, enter the next room. Destroy the red crystal in the center, then speak to your companion. Shazah realizes why the first Mane gave you his blessing—you are the Moon Hallowed.



4. A Door Into Moonlight
Quest Giver: Khali in Fort Grimwatch
Location(s): Moonlit Clearing north of Senalana
Reward: Chain of the Hallowed + 251 Gold

  1. Talk to Kauzanabi-jo in the Moonlit Clearing.
  2. Pray at the Lunar Shrine, and listen to the first Mane.
  3. Talk to Kauzanabi-jo again.

The Lunar Champions, Shazah and Khali, want to check and see if you are the Moon Hallowed. Khali in Fort Grimwatch tells you to speak to the priestess in the Moonlit Clearing, north of Senalana. She will know for sure.

To Moonlit Clearing
The Moonlit Clearing is northeast of Fort Grimwatch. When you get there, Kauzanabi-jo is praying at the shrine.

“Bright Moons hang above us, child. What brings you all the way out here?”

Someone told me I might be something called the Moon Hallowed?

“If you truly wish to know, if you are prepared, pray here at the altar. Just do not be disappointed if nothing happens.”

The Mane’s Prophecy
When you pray at the Lunar Shrine, the spirit of the first Mane appears.

“You have arrived in Reaper’s March at a critical time. The soul of the Khajiiti people, and the entire Dominion, are in crisis. Mane Akkhuz-ri is tainted by evil. He will never again be fit to lead our people. Our hope lies with these women, the Champions. One of them will be Mane. You must help one of them walk the Path… for you are the Moon Hallowed. Without a new Mane, the Khajiit will fall. The Dominion will fall. Walk well in the light of Jone and Jode and you shall succeed, Moon Hallowed.”

Speak to Kauzanabi-jo again. She recognizes you as the Moon Hallowed and gives you Chain of the Hallowed and 251 gold.



5. Hallowed To Arenthia
Quest Giver: Kauzanabi-jo at the Moonlit Clearing
Location(s): Arenthia
Reward: 63 Gold
Recommended Level: 38

Kauzanabi-jo says the people of Arenthia are in danger. She tells you to meet Cariel on the road into the city.

Cariel is southeast of the priestess, just before the crumbling bridge into Arenthia.



6. The Colovian Occupation

Reward: Leathers of the Emancipator + 510 Gold

  2. Listen to the Magical Projection.
  3. Talk to Kazirra.

  8. Talk to Kazirra.
  9. Use the imprinting crystal on one of the projections.
  10. Kill General Lavinia.
  11. Talk to Cariel in Arethia’s center.

– Detailed Walkthrough –

Talk to Cariel outside the bridge to Arenthia. She informs you that Colovian invaders have taken the city. Cariel is helping the local resistance and its leader, Kazirra. You need to disguise yourself, using the dead scout’s uniform, then head to the safe house in the market. It is the hut with a lion statue. You should also check out the propaganda illusion in the market.

Search the Highland Archer and take the Colovian Uniform. You don’t have to equip the disguise, but you do have to enter the city and listen to the Magical Projection.

“Abide by the instructions of my officers, and you will be treated fairly. We have no wish to harm you and look forward to the day when we are all equals, but do not doubt our resolve. We are committed, and we are not going anywhere.”

Enter the Inconspicuous House, which is located between the Mages Guild and the armory. The house is full of resistance fighters. Talk to Kazirra, Clanmother of Arenthia. The Stonefire cult is behind the Colovian attack. They are a group of Worm Cultists led by Javad Tharn. If word gets out that the Colovian General consorts with Daedric cults, the Colovians will leave. However, General Lavinia will never crack. You need to get the confession from the second in command, Centurion Gavo. If you can find his plans, you will know where to find him.

The Tower District
You need to search the Tower District, named for the large tower at the back of it. Cariel will meet you there once you’ve found some information. The Tower District is south of the Inconspicuous House. You need to look in four buildings. In Agapitus’ House, on a bookshelf in the lower level, is Admission Denied; on the table is Gavo’s Itinerary; and upstairs between two beds is Who Asked Them Here?. In Hirraxim’s House, on the lower level is The Key to Projection and the Imprinting Crystal. Upstairs is Not That Bad and These Damned Cats. In Henlor’s House, on the lower level is Funny Stuff, Sil and Big Damn Bugs. On the upper level is Why the Projections?. Inside Zabibi’s House, Await My Emissary is on the ground floor.

Quick Clue Guide
If you want to find the clues quickly, you should read Await My Emissary in the first right house, then search the last two houses for The Key to Projection and the Imprinting Crystal (both inside Hirraxim’s house on the left) and Gavo’s Itinerary.

Meet Cariel behind the tower when you have all four clues. You will pretend to be Tharn’s envoy. You will wait at the top of the tower for Gavo, then distract him, so Cariel can take him hostage.

Intercept the Centurion
Enter the tower and look north. You can see Gavo walking up to the tower and hear him conversing with a sentry. Once he appears inside the tower, talk to Gavo. After you tell him you think he will be perfect, Cariel hits him with her sword. Talk to her. You will disguise yourself as Gavo using an earring and walk him out the front gate as your prisoner. Put on the earring; it is in your quest items.

Head back to Kazirra with Gavo. The crystal you found will allow you to record Gavo’s confession and broadcast it all over the city. Use the Imprinting Crystal on Centurion Gavo in the corner.

Gavo’s Confession
“Tell us what you are doing. Who is behind the sack of Arenthia?”

“We are in league with the Stonefire cult. The cultists are here. They are hidden behind the walls of the Temple District. They’re performing a ritual, preparing the way for a Dark Anchor. They work under the orders of Javad Tharn, the necromancer.”

Talk to Kazirra. Take the crystal to one of the projection stands. It should imprint the image all over the city at once. With the Colovians broken, you should find Lavinia in the inn and kill her.

Use the crystal, then head east of the Arenthia icon to the Residential District. Go to The Pious Arenthi-Inn. Mane Akkhuz-ri talks to the General then disappears.

“You’re too late! The Dark Anchor shall be created!” —General Lavinia

Return to the town center, and talk to Cariel. She tells you most of the Colovians are on the run and gives you Leathers of the Emancipator and 510 gold.



7. Stonefire Machinations
Quest Giver: Cariel
Location(s): Arenthia, Temple to the Divines
Reward: Great Axe of the Crescent Moon + 255 Gold

  1. Stop the Stonefire Cult’s ritual.
  2. Find Mane Akkhuz-ri.
  3. Talk to Cariel.
  4. Talk to Kazirra.

Talk to Cariel in the center of Arenthia. She thinks the Mane may have gone to the temple district. You need to stop the Stonefire ritual and find Mane Akkhuz-ri.

Enter the Temple District through the southeastern door. Defeat the three pyromancers and destroy the unfinished dolmen.

Enter the Temple to the Divines behind the dolmen. Head into the Temple Undercroft; the door is at the bottom of the stairs. Use the door at the end of the hall to enter the Sanctum of the Mane.

Defeat the Dar-M’Athra shade and infernal. Mane Akkhuz-ri appears. You need to get him to low enough health that he surrenders. The Dark Mane separates himself from Akkhuz-ri and vows to meet you again.

Talk to Akkhuz-ri. He remembers the Dark Mane talked to Javad Tharn about visiting places throughout Reaper’s March.

Talk to Cariel. She is surprised to see the Mane alive, but the Dominion has driven out the Colovians. She asks you to tell Kazirra what happened.

Leave the Temple District and go to the center of Arenthia. She thanks you for your great work in Arenthia.



8. To Rawl’kha
Quest Giver: Kazirra in Arenthia
Location(s): Rawl’kha
Reward: 63 Gold
Recommended Level: 38

  1. Speak to Hadam-do, a Moon Priest, in Rawl’kha.

Talk to Kazirra in the center of Arenthia. The Temple of the Dance in Rawl’kha is central to the March and the site of the next steps to decide a new Mane. She thinks Akkhuz-ri, the corrupted Mane, will follow you to Rawl’kha.

Rawl’kha is south of Arenthia. Once there, you need to speak to a Moon Priest.

The priest, Hadam-do, is outside the temple east of the Rawl’kha Wayshrine.

Continue to the next Reaper’s March skill point questing zone, Jodewood.
